I sa I saw them at Manchester Apollo, went in my Capri that i had repaired a radiator leak with electrical solder ,obviously the repair failed and broke down on M62 on way home , i couldn't hear the emergency operator due to being completely deaf from the concert , we just had to sit on hard shoulder untill a police car came to us . I remember the recovery home of about 40 miles plus the drop off home of three mates cost £21 , i only earnt £18.50 per week and my tight arsed mates wouldnt contribute , still dont forgive them almost 50 years later.
I saw them somewhere late 70's too. Very loud ... as they were. I'm surprised Angus Young hasn't suffered irreversible brain damage from extreme head banging.
One crazy dude! I was standing 10ft from him when I saw them. I have never seen anyone like him before or since. For me he was AC/DC. Love the singers and all, but they come and go - Angus though would be irreplaceable
I don't even like that kind of music really but I appreciate it. Did you see Black Sabbath back then? That was more my cup of tea - mental in a different way.
1st saw Sabbath in '80 with RJD, thought they where awesome wasn't until a few months later that I got into their older stuff. Saw them when they re-formed but Ozzy can't sing any more (if he could ever ) Listening to sabbath at the minute
Podcasts, namely the Alistair Campbell/Rory Stewart one (not a great fan of Campbell but I like Rory, an interesting and wise fella I think), and then the new Jonathan Pie one which is funny as
Barrowlands Glasgow 1983 - New Years Eve. Apparently, I read recently that Steve Lillywhite proposed to Kirsty McColl at this concert - I love these clips of that concert - nostalgic tinged with a lot of sadness over Stuart and Kirsties deaths.
