Just finished a great music festival - but I'm knackered after 3 days if music. I was quite nervous as it was advertised as Americana... called the Black Deer Festival..Yee Hah and all that....however we heard some brilliant music from all over including Robert Vincent from Liverpool, Hannah White, Irish Mythen (brilliant force of nature, tiny in statute, guess from where.....Canada), Kezia Gill, Madison Violet from Canada as well, etc. Saturday night was abruptly ended, part way through a brilliant gig by Robert V and guest appearances from other singers, by a massive thunder storm...show cancelled but light show started and the heavens opened. All in all a good time was had.
Been listening to these a lot this week, one of the most innovative groups to come out of the whole punk scene. I think there was some contractual nonsense going on the prevented McGeoch appearing in the vid. What a song though, what a band
. I went to the local skate park with grandson and some teenagers had a sixties playlist on , the Turtles , happy together sounded really good on their gear so i looked them up on youtube , what a delight to watch , and listen to , the guy in the white shirt in this video seems a right comedian, spitting of Eric Morcombe , enjoy as i did .the Drummer seems a charachter also. starts at 1.40
That is soooo good, why have I never heard of these before…?? Just seen that the drummer was John Halsey aka Barrington Womble aka Barry Wom of The Rutles
This is why music is a good thing , i actually hated the track .cover looks like Leo Sayer having a break down , song reminded me of our good friend Tony Hart picture gallery tune then changes to a rocky Phil Collins . Not for me , but as i say thats why music is good theres something for everyone .. eventually
i just like that back in that period people were trying all sorts of things even if their USA roots and habits usually took over. They're tripping over each other a fair bit but hats off for giving it a go.
