mine pre 67 convertible in yellow standard , was in a yard 3 4 years ago outside enniskillen n ireland , the man had a yard full of porsche tractors and loads of other ones that he brings out of germany , and sells this is the kind of stuff he had what i didnt take was the tractor and trailer loaded to the gills with them just in
Oh no no i'am not like that, i'am a one fella man . The bride was dropped of in a roller , and incidently i think they look like big glorified Austin Cambridge's.
Mate of mine had a reliant back in 78 . He came down the A38 to join the big outer ring road island in mid icy snowy winter ,the front wheel caught the built up icy frozen slush and tossed him on his side . Fortunately it was three in the morning and no traffic about except for a man walking his dog , and as he was clambering out of the window facing uphill the dog walker didn't even assist him getting out, and just said to him " Icy tonight isn't it ."
I'd go for one of those Art Deco behemoths like a Buick Streamliner or a Tatra T87 Bikewise, it's got to be a Henderson...
I had the bigger Austin 1800 and now you remind me it had mahoosive front seats, servo and power steering, the gears were sweet and it went really well.
My ma had a 1600 allegro I used to borrow - a much maligned car with it's square steering wheel (that you honestly didn't notice). It was fantastic - sporty, excellent suspension and handling.
realistically...I'd stretch to an Austin 1300 GT or a Mk1 Cooper 'S....obviously Can't afford either...nor a Citroen DS
I have a copy of octane mag from last year where they ran a story about tracing that actual car.. reason it wasn't "officially" documented by the factory was 'cos it was a sold customer car that was used - cameras strapped to it and everything, then cleaned up and mileage wound back and delivered, customer none the wiser! Had to be arancio (orange) to match the smashed shell the production company had lined up to be the stunt double in the crash scene. Great choice.
the there was a lovely unmolested HF on ebay the other week going for relative peanuts (about £8K)...two owners from new, still had the factory wrapping on the upholstery...bargain if you had the spare cash http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-De...922172?hash=item41a361127c:g:9q4AAOSwFqJWnpVq
That's my second more realistic choice, very nearly bought one of these twice but walked away cos of the rot!
