Mate of mine had a reliant back in 78 . He came down the A38 to join the big outer ring road island in mid icy snowy winter ,the front wheel caught the built up icy frozen slush and tossed him on his side .
Fortunately it was three in the morning and no traffic about except for a man walking his dog , and as he was clambering out of the window facing uphill the dog walker didn't even assist him getting out, and just said to him " Icy tonight isn't it ."

  8. I'd go for one of those Art Deco behemoths like a Buick Streamliner
    [IMG]

    or a Tatra T87

Bikewise, it's got to be a Henderson...

  11. Great choice. I'd love to be able to afford to buy and run one of these as a daily!

I had the bigger Austin 1800 and now you remind me it had mahoosive front seats, servo and power steering, the gears were sweet and it went really well. :)

My ma had a 1600 allegro I used to borrow - a much maligned car with it's square steering wheel (that you honestly didn't notice). It was fantastic - sporty, excellent suspension and handling.

  17. I have a copy of octane mag from last year where they ran a story about tracing that actual car.. reason it wasn't "officially" documented by the factory was 'cos it was a sold customer car that was used - cameras strapped to it and everything, then cleaned up and mileage wound back and delivered, customer none the wiser! Had to be arancio (orange) to match the smashed shell the production company had lined up to be the stunt double in the crash scene. Great choice.
