I am confused re the colour of my van , having looked at various sites and colour swatches i assumed that my van was/is Saturn Yellow
i had a spray can made up at Wood Autos in Wakefield but the colour is just wrong by a large margin

this is a photo that shows the colour in a good light ,
if you look also at the very top of page where the late bay logo is , then that yellow appears to be the same on the van in the picture .
i gave the shop the vw colour code and he made it up to that code , but its just not right, i am not blaming the shop at all.
the van is not in its original colour (it was orange)

Is my van Saturn yellow , or is it something else?

Does to me too Ricky, but op if you're going to try that, there are two different versions of Marino yellow. One looks Orange to me and the oher more yelloow

It'll either be chrome yellow or Marino yellow (same as our Westy) but looking at the colour it's hard to say which!

  8. Not picking holes, but you want to get a proper coat of paint in those headlight bowls... I can still see black transit paint, and it is most definitely not waterproof... :(

Th previous owner spent his money on the welding , i think he ran out of money and he sprayed it himself (i have been suplied with photos of the work done ), he has made a terrible job of the spraying with no prep at all .
Ive had her (florence ) for two years in oct but ive been working on mechanics and the underside but i can only work on the driveway as it wont fit in garage . Im gonna get it on road and use it this year then think about a pro spray job next year.
i have bits here and there that just need a protective coat on , thats why i bought spray can but i was bewildered by the miss match colour as i was convinced it was saturn yellow

  11. It could be any vw yellow then... My paint shop that I use has manufacture colour chits, and they cover the last 20 years of colours

  12. unfortunately cant help with the colour..
could i inquire what the site is that tells you what your Mplate means? ta

  15. Been out with the family in the van today but remembered to take this pic for you. It was Chrome Yellow before it was resprayed when it was converted from a panel. The lazy buggers only painted the outside, so here's some original CY...

Thank you sir Arthur , i am humbled that you thought of me and my plight
The chrome yellow looks quite orange compared to my van ??? zed commented on that point above and your pic seems to confirm it so i am wondering if its Marino yellow ?
Are little match pots available anywhere , £13 a spray tin is quite a lot to spend if i keep getting it wrong

What year is your van btw? Has it got a fuel filler flap? unbolt it and take it down the paint shop if it has!!! :)

DO NOT leave the spring from the flap with them, they will loose it. ;)
