As a Catholic, he is only echoing the majority feelings of his faith.

  7. As a Catholic I can tell you with absolute certainty that he isn’t.

I’m from a large Irish Italian Catholic family and not a single member or anyone I know is against gay marriage. Which is handy really as my son is gay. Real world attitudes and doctrine are two very different things.

Back to Brexit ( sorry) They had a vote on something that they knew full well would split the country, but that’s okay divide n rule and all that they thought they could handle that. Yet they underestimated how divisive a Brexit vote would be no matter which way it went and it split the party, Cameron resigned, Theresa May messed up the negotiations and resigned, Boris bless him got it done and the new party was so divided he got the boot, Truss comes in on a remit of looking after her pals and is gone in days, now we have Rishi.

The thing is the party is still divided and they never took the time to get the whole party on side before going to the ballot box. Once they had the result no one took the time to sit back and unite the party ( difficult task given how the campaign was run and how divisive it became) so now they’re at loggerheads from within. They won’t settle their differences it’s too deeply rooted and all we’ve had since the Brexit vote is conservative infighting and regardless of my own political bias or my thoughts on Brexit this infighting and divide is bringing this country down.

It’s time for a change, good or indifferent!

it has been royally screwed this brexit changeover and the conservatives may take a long time to regroup!

Good luck Rishi you’re going to need it.

My apologies if I have offended you. My info came from https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-56402096
It seems that J R-M is as outdated as the Catholic church hierarchy which doesn't surprise me!

  11. You haven’t offended me in the slightest. In all walks of life there are the nutters who just take things too far, too literally. Religion, politics, football etc etc. But we all know that the majority of us are pretty moderate in all our views. Let’s face it the behaviour of some of the Priests over the years has left a lot to be desired. So even they don’t follow the teachings to the letter. My family settled in London when they moved from Ireland. They were so poor that my Dad and his brothers were taken into a Catholic orphanage as my Nan and Grandad literally couldn’t feed them. My Dad still remembers how terribly treated they were by some of the Nuns. But are all of them like that? Of course not? Are all priests awful? Of course not. Are all Catholics against abortion and see being gay as a sin? Of course not. Most of us just want the best for people, unfortunately some like Mogg just take things to the extreme.

JRM probably doesn't give a monkeys about anything he spouts about, just a nerdy attention seeker who found out early in life that spouting ridiculous views did the job.

If we are going to have a windfall tax, then can we at least have a real windfall taxes not the whitewash, mates rates type that allows them to avoid the tax if they undertake the investment they were already planning to do...resulting in no windfall :(

  17. But bad news for everyone else!

I would guess that the overall benefit that trickles down into pensions will be tiny compared to the direct impact on everyday life.

The Tories were supposed to be committed to levelling up, but seem to be rounding down......

Inflation is good news for annuity rates... and so it should be but anyone who bought one in the past few years will suffer.

There were no parties at my house.
There were parties, but I did not attend them.
I attended an event, I didn’t know it was a party.
I attended a party, I was assured it was compliant by someone I can’t recall.

From his sycophant mates and apologist ‘journalists’…..It’s unreasonable to expect the person responsible for the Covid rules and charged with explaining them to all concerned parties to have understood them himself.

At which point do his lies to those who support him whatever he does, become so convincing all they do is lie to themselves and everyone around them.

    Some conjures trick that.

Watched and listened to the lot ( whilst attempting to clean up my engine bay )
I was particularly interested in the body language and demeanour of his lawyer Pannick, who was clearly infuriated as the rules he is used to do not ( strictly ..if at all ) apply to this event. He was squirming, tried to prod Bojo but was mainly hogtied. He will be fuming also that there is no appeal, so will have to just bank his £200 k for a dossier that could have been written by a decent 2nd year law student. Overall very embarrassing to see somebody who has treated rules as applicable to others to try to avoid the obvious.
Such a shame that the odious *&&& Cummings didn’t keep records but Bojo is likely to just get a mild slap and nothing that may invoke a de-selection opportunity.
Just need him and his weird bunch of sycophants to disappear to try to get ourselves back on track. Whatever party .
