All of @crossy2112 ’s Saturday night gigs at Barnsley Working Mens Club have been cancelled. And he’s been practicing “Love Me Tender” all week. Awful
@Gingerbus I've dragged the bright lights out and have taken my son out mountain biking later on a Monday evening, no crowds then. Up our way there has been a massive rise in the number of people out who have driven to where we are, hopefully one day soon they will go back to wherever they came from. Otherwise there has been no sailing or even going down to the boat to do some work or just sit and watch the world go by. The most adventurous we've been is my wife drives my son, the dogs and I to a spot about 5 miles away and we walk back.
My bro in law runs the local taxi service he caught covid from a customer didn't know he had it, brought it home and my 87 year old mother in law got it, my sister in law, his son, his son's family and my mother in law was in hospital very ill just before christmas. luckily everyone is okay now. Take care out there Bazza.
I did a few night rides myself a few weeks back. Just got lazy after finishing work and fell into a dangerously lazy routine. It’s nice that people have ‘discovered’ the countryside again and I’ve just had to accept that my pretty much free reign around here has ended after many years and I need to get used to it, now to the point where it’s just too busy to be out on a bike amongst it. I hate being a nuisance to anyone and cycling just doesn’t mix on my local rides any more. Been making short trips with the bike on the car roof to less busy bridleways where cycling isn’t the tiny minority activity it is round here now. I just need to motivate and adapt. We’re all out there to enjoy it.
And they’ve been locking Vowels Lane car park a lot lately Baz, so that’s knocked your evening activities on the head too. Not that I’ve been there for any particular reason, I mean I’ve just driven past on my way to Grinny and happened to glance over...
I played football one weekend on a council pitch behind my Foreman's house. On the Monday morning he said that he'd watched our game for a while and that I'd reminded him of Peters. "But not Martin Peters, you're more like Lenny Peters"......
I never learn do I , I read that just as I took a mouthful of hot coffee which has just gone all over me
I'm at the lights and I'm still laughing at the coffee all over my trousers and you playing like Lenny peters
