Working on the bus has changed a lot for me during the pandemic. I had been working on an engine build but found having the kids around all the time and working from home made it difficult to focus on the all that tedious measurement. It also made it more stressful than fun. I ended up setting aside my engine build and doing a lot of the mindless grunt work tasks on my bus like stripping and repainting the underside, putting parts through the blast cabinet and lots of parts cleaning. It all needed to get done before installing the engine anyway. I also played my neglected guitar a lot more, went for runs and used my flight simulator a lot more on rainy days.
Carp fishing has been put on the back burner but because I'm looking after Holly and she doesn't like fishing I wouldn't be going anyway, Can't play golf at the moment nothing to do with covid I just can't play Ive been playing poo Gym is closed Judo and Karate classes have been cancelled Athletic club closed Flower pressing group we are meeting online So yes my hobbies have been affected
My focus has turned to the T5, garden stuff and now the garage is half built I’ve got plenty to do to make it habitable!! I think the main thing that has stopped were the more social engagements and get togethers. A pint, a coffee out, breakfast, lunch or dinner somewhere. The upside is that there is a few more pennies in the bank account saved in petrol and tips!
The lack of inline hockey thing is actually getting me down. I have put on so much weight since last March (lost a bit in lockdown 2.0). we had a few reduced numbers sessions where we could but everything is off now. I then took golf back up - a real relief to get out there and have a long walk / some exercise / chat etc. now that has been cancelled it seems as though i am staring at the same four walls the whole time. that is why i am currently outside, working, having lit a fire. BOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG
I checked the Covid rules Baz, and you are still allowed to shout "W*nker!" at any Spurs supporters walking past. Some small consolation in these difficult times.
Motorcycling and particularly Trail riding at this time of year. Can’t do much other than look at the bikes & keep the batteries charged at the moment. At least i can get out on the mountain bike for some exercise. Been playing with the camper today even though it’s about 3C with a northerly blowing. I just can’t sit about doing nothing
I've been making some music with complete strangers from around the world. Just doing one with a youngish chap from Colorado. The wonders of the internet. I do a bit, he does a bit etc. He's a good singer.
I know we’ve talked about music of our youth and I know you were in a band of the era, but I’m jiggered if I can remember what instrument you play?
I read in the paper that even the Red Arrows are having practice indoors these days, in Scampton village hall. Quite a tight turn down the end by the toilet, but they manage it. Amazing!
Guitar, but with virtual everything I can do a fair job of any instrument and studio quality multitrack recording/mixing...if I were better at it. One thing stops me posting anything is people would think "that's what he does" but in reality I do a large variety of different things because it's the production side I enjoy mostly. Most good sounding music is simple arrangements, so the aim is that for whatever I'm doing. It's too easy to slather on layers of instruments into a mush. Then you can use a high quality reverb to put it in a space more easily.
