Before I look - is it a trebuchet? I have high hopes now in my minds eye - an elevator won't cut it. Edit - the elevators are mental.
Lots of places that might be called famous but to me were interesting. ..Grand Canyon by helicopter and boat on the Colarado river, Pulpit rock in Norway (hiked to get there and thick mist so couldn't see the fjord 1km below ),Jules Verne restaurant up the Eiffel tower, VW Wolfsburg factory in the early '60s watching beetles coming off the production line every few seconds, many steel and material facilities, Rolls Royce aero engine plant,BAE facilities. ...I could go on. .....waiting for the "you have done "comments
I'm the same , I've been to lots of countries and seen many beautiful and interesting things . It's not about ticking boxes with me , it's what you make of it ... I avoid cities mostly but have visited Istanbul many times - an incredible place , the Grand Canyon at sunrise is up there and any beach on the Eastern coast of Malaysia ... There's one of Lady Lastys friends who wherever they go always use that tired old cliche "we've done Italy" after a week on Como - idiots ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
The YouTube vid I found looks more recent, I went up in the very late 90's, the inside of the washing machine drums were much more industrial in nature, if I recall, reminiscent of the rust belt itself and of the inside of 80's American cars.
They are, scared me witless. Worse than the swaying at the top.... If you want weird and wacky American style world leading solutions to problems that shouldn't exist look up the Mobile Lounges of Dulles International. They're like .....why??!?!!?
I got to go up Big Ben when I did my year's placement as part of my uni course (worked for Department of Energy and Climate Change doing stats). Was up there when it chimed, you could feel it in your chest!
Iron Islands, Winterfell, Dorne, Dothraki Grasslands, Stormlands, River lands even went on holiday to Astapor
Apart from the "usual suspects" already given a good airing above ....... some places that were "famous" to others, but were day to day for me. A bunch of London landmarks, like Tower Bridge, that I didn't appreciate at the time, when I was at school ... Abbey Road Studios. Cycled past Alan Bennett's place most days when at college ... usually when himself was stood chatting with that "Lady in the Van". Davos. Broke my leg skiing when I should have been indoors, age 4 1/2, on April 1st ... more fool me. Venice for seven weeks studying Art History. providing the best "memorable moving moment" walking out of the train station into the "film set" as the sun was setting Cambridge Uni That Leeds when Peter Sutcliffe's photo was in the papers .... Got some weird looks that trip.
