  1. Hi everyone. This is my first ever post on any forum, so forgive me if I don't follow forum-ettiquette.

Just thought I'd share a couple of pics of my '76 Westy which is currently being restored at Busmeister. But I find I don't know how to put my pics up cos they're too big :(

As is probably oh so familiar to a lot of you, pretty much all the problem areas on a late bay have reared their ugly heads, including a front outrigger with 5, yes five, layers of steel glued on with pigeon poo welds. The whole thing was stripped down and dipped to reveal lots of tinworm holes and other horrors.
The chassis has been fully repaired now and the front panel, deformation panel, inner screen panel and lower a-posts have all been replaced. Both front arches have been completely replaced along with offside wheel tub. All 6 sill sections replaced and all tophat/floor supports replaced.
Still to go are entire side panel opp. sliding door and both full size rear quarters, both rear corners and both rear wheel tubs.
I'm getting very excited now as the resto gathers speed. Looking forward to getting her in paint. I think I'm going for Lambo Orange Met bottom half with Pearl White top half.

As far as mechanicals go, the 1800 type4 will get a pair of 34s and some powdercoated tin and probably a Turbo Thomas ss zorst. 1spline drop at the back and a CE weedeater at the front. Undecided on wheels - any thoughts ??
Hopefully I'll find out how to post some pics soon and share my half-built Westy :)

    Mike.
