You know the where the sliding hinges fit to the roof? The original had a load spreading plate, approx. 40mm wide x 1mm(?) thick with attached M6 nuts, inside the tin roof.
(not particularly thick so perhaps it's main purpose was to hold nuts in the right place to make it easy to fit the roof).

The rear props didn't need similar but only because of the strength of the original sun roof aperture which was folded down all round unlike yours which is cut out. You'll need to address that or the roof may bend when you put the top up.

If you fit the canvas to the roof and let it dangle you'll soon find out if the hole is too wide and where to fix it down if hits the roof not the hole.

Cheers all. The roof sits a lot better with the "hooks" the right way around . The roof needs a push to the rear when lowering to get the hooks to behave.
