  1. Get the bumpers and front air vent painted the correct colour and its a £30,000 job.

  2. The bumpers are on the list.....what colour should the air vent be? Are the bumper not meant to be black though..... they have been since I was 8years old....

  3. Bumpers and air vent are colour coded to the White bus originally.
Good choice of interior cabinets...............I have the same, have you rounded off the sharp protruding corners yet, they could really hurt someone in an accident.

  4. Try Cherished Insurance they give a discount to members, a free DNA kit but have a limit of £20.000 if not kept in a lock up garage over night. Agree the location for taking insurance pictures could be better. I would go high (20.000 plus) and like selling you can come down but never up.

  5. That a nice bus and love the interior.

Agree that I'd insure for as much as possible as insurance company will likely bid you down, and also try and knock it down further in the unlikely event you needed to make a claim.

Would also agree on colour coding the bumpers and grille, although I maybe a little biased. ;)

  6. I was thinking white would look a little too white..... but that looks nice...

  7. Corners on the work surface? They are already rounded ?

  8. My corner, the one that sticks out, where the w/s gets wider, was pretty sharp, so I took a fine file to it, and when rounded off applied a little OSMO oil.....you cant see the difference.

  9. Very nice van, but bear in mind the insurance company underwriters would decide a valuation based on your submitted photos. You do need to take photos away from housing and certainly no children or others in the photos. Just the van itself.

Remember the under body and engine bay need photos.

I would have thought £20k was a reasonable figure.

  10. mine is also all white - see avatar - except the grille is now stainless

  11. He did a better job on mine...... well there at least lol

Your bus , your bumpers and grille, keep it black if you like it that way it's not something that's going to affect insurance valuation.

  13. I think I will be, it's just how it's always been, refitting the interior was a big decision not taken lightly as I like things original - but it was made of 40+ year old compressed cornflakes, was impractical and looked a state.

The one we have put in will last at least as long as the van...... if it's still rolling about in 40 years time ( will we still have petrol? ) I'm sure it will have faired better than the Devon interior.

I know what you mean, I like the Devon layout in mine so copied the units in ply rather than chipboard, didn't dismantle it just hovered it up bit by bit
