VW Kampers - Small Dole Nr Brighton

Discussion in 'Buying a VW Camper' started by Motspur Hotspur, Apr 9, 2015.

  1. Just wondered if anyone has had any dealing with these guys? Got my eyes on one over there but after reading the 'buying a camper' thread I'm petrified!

This will be a lifes' dream ticked off the bucket list for me and lady hotspur but at that money it's still a huge gamble.

Sure they are totally fine but it doesn't hurt to ask - the only stupid question is the one not asked after all!

That's not priced too bad tbh..I follow them on Facebook, last summer (2014) they sold five westies similar to that one, all five had a listed price of £31,995

  4. £21995 now it's heading in the right direction

  5. We always new it would be a 20k+ buy to get something as new/resto as possible. Do these guys have a good rep in the scene? Really would like some reassurance tbh!

I suppose I'll need to bite the bullet and go and have a look, I'll make sure to take a look underneath!
Actually scrap that, for 22k they can put it up on the ramps!

They've been around a while - probably would have heard something between us if they turned out bad stuff more than if it's as advertised. Looks very nice to me

  7. Another company that are the same for complete rebuilds to a high spec and similar prices are www.vwdownunder.co.uk just check their web site .

  8. Thanks for that, definitely a site to keep my eye on

Got mine from vwkampers. Expensive but kosher. Nice guy runs it. Lost a hubcap on the way home and he sent a replacement foc.

  10. You have to consider that price it tops ,when you have bought it achieving a higher resale price will be hard...

Take someone who is super geek with you...

  11. I got my Berlin from Ian and his guys and they did a cracking job, 2 years in and I have no complaints at all. I took it for a service with my local guy and he says that it is mechanically top notch, couldn't recommend them enough

  12. They've been around a while, I remember seeing an article about them in camper & bus a year ago? I see the advert says they are refurbishing, reconditioning whatever they call it. Don't know if they take any photos during they could let you have so you can see what they have done? If I was buying one from there then I would want to make sure it was tip top and nothing was missed.

    Front seats need re-stuffing
shame it's got black door cards instead of the correct green
    mud flaps are missing
    gas tank is missing
    Cheap quality rear hatch seal
    Water filler neck is missing
Steering wheel should be a padded one

For the price there's quite a lot of stuff that's not correct or missing.

    No engine pics underside etc.

Personally I think these details show a lack of attention to detail and that's from a dozen pictures.
maybe I'm to cheap and picky but I would say that's expensive, it would be interesting to see a build history etc.
