    Thanks everyone for the comments,

Been taking a few more backwards steps this weekend, ::)

Firstly realising I've had about £150 of new bits stolen, would have been a while ago when the barn its stored in was broken into, Ive only now noticed that a bag containing new wing mirrors, light lenses, gaskets, etc etc has gone awol, so thats !@*#ed me off.

Bought a 'Brazil' off side sliding window, :)

Then whilst everyone was soaking wet and waving soggy union jacks at the Queen I was geting on with the bus!

First aligned the cab doors and refitted the sliding door seal correctly ::) to fettle/adjust the fit of the door,

Then taking some more backwards steps, set about cutting the front deformation panel off to fit an early front, it was a shame to cut it off as it was one of the least rusty bits of the van! But I'd already brought the lower panel, indicators + housings, indicator blanks, and early bumper, just now need to source an early grille, but for trial fitting I can borrow one to fit the indicator blanks.

I took a chance and bought the smaller lower front panel for an prototype as opposed to the slightly larger panel available with indicator holes pre cut which is normally used when fitting an early front.

After cutting the deformation panel and lower lip of the new front panel I realised the panel was only just big enough, but would require the upper [glow=red,2,300][glow=red,2,300][glow=red,2,300]flange[/glow][/glow][/glow] it came supplied with to be hammered flat (that probably means nothing to most people though!)

Offered the new panel up and set it in from behind the front panel, this took ages as there wasnt much left of the panel to slide up behind it, and it kept popping out whilst making adjustments.

The new panel , genuine Klokkerhlm rubbish looked to have been formed in the factory I imagine by a man named Lars bending a bit of sheet metal repeatedly over his knee ::), as the pressing is poor, and the curvature of the new panel is completely wrong, although this could slightly be due to differences between early and late front crossmembers, after a lot of hammering it fits, but will require plenty of filler work to get it looking right.

Its half way through, but the pictures do the talking.

Back on it tomorrow, and also realised this evening I've got to drill holes in the chassis legs to mount the new front bumper irons, for such a small detail I thought they would have been left in from the early pressings, ::)

  7. Sorry to hear about the parts getting stolen dude

    Cheers for the comments people,

Progress has been put on hold after another self inflicted injury ::), I dislocated my thumb today whilst banger racing, another trip to A&E, some X rays and laughing gas ;D ;D ;D meant I walked away mended but with alot of swelling, and pain to the ligaments in my arm and wrist, a planned few days in Spain later in the week though will help the healing process 8) but gutted I cant be getting on with my bus, it seemed to be moving on alot in the last few weeks.

I Didnt even manage a complete lap (28 seconds to be precise), before getting spun and then stuffed into the track wall. I've got it all on in car video, just need to work out out to edit it down to pathetic 60 second clip, working title "Gone in 28 Seconds" to the music, "28 seconds to go" ::)

Just about sums my race up!

That bump at the top should'nt be there,

Thought as much, dislocated, & luckily not broken.

Might start on writing a book, "Reasons not to do ......" As I seem to have plenty of material, and 9 lives.

As I cant get much done at the minute, I placed these in the van to see what they'll look like and will need with regards to fitting, They're MGF seats and I think they'll be ok, height wise I think they'll be spot on, but I'm wanting to put swivel bases on them which will raise them an extra 30mm in height, so will be looking at mounting a swivel base within the runners and as flush to the wheel tubs as possible, need to order 1 base first to see what I'm working with though.

    Getting there, ever slowy...
