V-Dub Island - Isle Of Wight - 15-19 Aug 2013

Did everyone go on the drive out today? We saw Burnout in a lovely LT

 

We did and decided to move on from the show and are just down the road from the surf comp now

 

We've also moved on now and are in a tiny field (max 12 pitches) nr Glastonbury. 2 nights here then down to Salcombe

Thanks to Davedub for organising and good to meet Mr and Mrs Sydney and the Barneyrubbles

 

We were gonna stay there but it seemed really windy - dont think our awning would've stood it

 

Did not do the drive out as was meeting a friend in a please called sandown. Saturday weather was shocking but Sunday was lovely and was a good show with loads to do on Sunday.

Good to meet some of you there. Are you sure you left @Bilbo the bus your twin was DJ'ing after the Cuban brothers last night.

Was gutted to miss @Barneyrubble s famous ribs. But great to see you again.

This is definitely a good show for the family campers. But you defo need good weather.

Great show, some great stuff going on, weather wasnt the best but we dripped dry eventually. Great to meet few more, we went over to tlb if it wasnt for knowing davedub we wouldnt have seen it, only three their, unfortunately we didnt see much of anyone , i went down a couple of times but all was quiet , or they were all out?? Any way nice to meet you Bilbo, sorry for waking you up. Show was huge we was told 8000 people their!!! . We did the convoy drive out to the surf beach, again told 480 vehicles did it,it was awsome, got a few good pics which i will have yo get sorted. Also met the burnouts and lovely lovely family we had a right laugh , til we cried . Mr softee n mrs whippy bowt us some fresh layed for our breaky and lovely they were too, great love bus they had too, thanks to them and the damage crew for great extra long weekend , hopefully no one has any dodgy pics of me at this one , think the cuban brothers were even a bit ripe for the tlb, . uuuuurrrrrm i wont explain but shaved young cat comes to mind and skinny willy who ever he was. Good to meet lyledriver again and a quick hand shake off mr grey at the ferry terminal on way back sorry we missed you. Hope all that went all had a great time. oh yeh nearly forgot, we camped up withe silver n his lovely family and an prototype bay boy n his lovely family n few other reprobates who id rather not mention. We had a ball defo doing it again next year. Bus went a dream, even on silvers mystery tour to ventnor n shanklin ,test the hill climb and brakes to their maximimummmmm!! my hand brake was left off on seafront but luckily silvers bus stopped it from drifting off down the prom. and we left a fart mark on his bumper to thank him . Just under 350 miles so we warmed the engine up . Betty and i had a Brillllliant time cheers everyone !!! sorry we didnt see you either matty

 

Home again. Good to meet you Mr & Mrs Bilbo and Mr & Mrs Davedub. Shame we didn't get to sit round the fire for some serious bus chat. Lovely little festival though lacking in organisation in places.
Decided to decamp Saturday to see more of the island. Camped up near Freshwater Sat & Sun. Great seeing and waving at splits, bays, wedges, T4/5s & beetles dotted all over the island on the road, in lay-bys, fields, car parks, campsites and on the ferry. Made us smile.
