Type 4 stainless exhaust.

  1. I’m planning for the jubilee celebrations with an engine pull, sort the tank. Paint the engine bay and sort the heating out.

Plan is to drop the Cali spec heat exchangers, fit some uk spec ones and replace the old Empi quiet pack.

So the question is what stainless trumpet for my strumpet?

I think there are three choices. The stainless quiet pack from JK.
Pluses it’s cheapest, it has pleasing twisting pipes under the valance.
Cons it’s JK and it might be bobbins.

Middle option. Vintage speed super flow muffler. Pluses, could refit the tow bar. Looks nicely made
Cons. Lacks the twisting speed pipes of my dreams.

    last option.
    CSP python.
Pluses - have you seen those curves?
Cons no tow bar, the COST

it’s for a 77Bay with a 2L type 4 on twin 40IDF’s - no immediate plans for more mods but I’d probably take it to 2.4l when it needs a refresh.

bring on the process of recommending what you have fitted.

My ’77 with a 2316cc Type 4, twin 40 IDFs, Python exhaust and a tow bar.

If you go to 2.4l think hard and long about how you do it.

    I did. (am)

The CSP is a nice bit of kit. Really nice.

Nothing against the JK but it’s “just” an exhaust.

The Vintage Speed is good but do sound a bit tinny. I put one on my T3/25 and am always thinking I should have done better.

I am getting a “nice” 2L for my bay and I have a CSP

I had to modify my CSP python
the straight pipe with 1x 90 deg bend coming from the 4 into1 into the muffler put it to close to the rear wheel

  5. I like my VS . Fits with my westy towbar , bought from heritage on one of their 10 or 15% discount days
