  2. I would go 44x38 just in case you want to go bigger later (you will)

  3. Paul had quoted me 44x38, whats the implications though with carb choice?

  6. could be. I too have been known to buy random Marmitee off ebay whilst *******ed at 3am, or whilst perusing the porn channels
    :)

  7. The 40s would be a touch small on 44 inlets, as the biggest chokes that you can get for 40s are 36mm...

I run 44s on my 2270, and really I should have 48s, or EFI ;)

  15. If it was the right guy last time I saw him was last year on the Subaru conversion Facebook group ... perhaps he gave up on air-cooled too.

A racing engine is ambitious if it is your first build, what engine have you got now and what do you want it to do?

  19. Ah well I have a 2L type 4 to tinker with and going to mess about and see what I can do down the strip - I have not messed about with engines myself so going to start tinkering one bit at a time -

  20. And why not...

Great what you can learn by doing..;)

We met a lad last month who had bought a rover v8 engine
He is 16. Asked him what it was going in,
    And he Said nothing....
But for £45 on eBay, he could strip it and learn...

Better than glued to a playbox...:D
