Good evening folks are the dip stick bellows on type 4 engines from the usual suppliers still turn to expanding jelly in one years time . I have a viton bellows but i want to keep that as a spare for my bus . I am at the moment just building up a 17.00 type 4 and the bellows is rock hard and cracked ..unless there is a supplier of viton ones anyone knows of cheers Ewan .

I did a group purchase from a place in the states a couple of years ago. USA seems to be the only place you can get them. If you were to arrange another group buy, I'm sure there would be plenty of takers judging by the number of people that contacted me to ask if I had any going spare! :)

That expansion is crazy indeed - no wonder they leak!
No rush, I'd have got around to selling it eventually. If I wasn't in a zero income situation for the past 5 and future 5 years I'd give it to you but needs must.

No Steve i wouldn't expect that , i know they have a value cost wise and quality wise to match . The 17.00 i am messing with is just a tin ware build up after giving it a good clean ...that was 5 years ago ,now i am paying the price looking for bits scattered all over
It's going into a californian import i bought 6 years back a tin top bus ...a cracking rust free motor .
I was tramping through a site in Ramona inland from San Diego and Carlsbad looking for old 50's Dodge pick ups , and noticed a late bay bus in the background ...and asked about it , he said it was a mate of his that owned it .
Said it was missing a engine and box but said he could easily get hold of type 4 and transmission and D/ shafts .

I bought it ...it had ID and amazingly a service record . Only thing missing was servo unit rear shockers and bent track rod arms due to strapping on container ..a few rips in the roof lining due to them clearly loading other things into it to make more brass .
And basically i have only just started to just get it running and moving to sell it on . No doubt something else will crop up and then be left for years again .
