We are planning to catch two stages of next years tour always wanted to...and having watched the time trial and men's race from the roadside @ the Olympics this year we decided to plan our holiday around it and support Wiggo we plan to get to Lake Annecy on the 15th having had a leisurely two day drive down.....and a stop in the beautiful town of Beaune and be set up for stages 19 & 20 Friday, July 19th Bourg-d’Oisans > Le Grand-Bornand 204 km Saturday, July 20th Annecy > Annecy - Semnoz 125 km I've booked a campsite near lake Annecy for a week......though we will get up onto stage 19 on the day before[2 if necessary] and sleep by the side of the road in the bus.. the stage has got some big climbs..[.having hopefully cycled some of it on the 16th and 17th.] On the 20th the stage comes round the lake so hopefully we should have found a good spot to cycle to from the campsite . Then we have another seven days to tour before returning to le chunnel Has anyone else got any plans to go?
I always go ,the Pyrenees stages are only a shortish drive, one day I would like to do the other side of France and might pop in to see my mate from Switzerland.... Enjoy yourself .... :-*
