Pipework will all be hidden behind either skirting along wall or boxing in below boiler.

  2. Woohoo, done it, !
Had one leaky joint on the vertical return section going back into boiler, (the joint i struggled with,), so removed that entire section of pipe from boiler, cut out the dodgy joint and replaced.
System repressurised and all leak free and a new toasty warm rad!
    Pretty chuffed with myself:hattip:

  4. I'm happy that the house has heating and hot water again. :) He's done an excellent job & you wouldn't recognize what was once the workshop conservatory. However, Mac has interesting orange patches on his body... But that's another story!

  8. I’m very impressed. Firstly cos you had the confidence to tackle this and secondly cos you’ve made a nice job of it. Well done. What you need to do is work out what this would have cost if you’d got a professional in, then work out what it’s cost you. Whatever the difference is you get to spend on yourself as a reward. :chewie::chewie::chewie::chewie:

Nicely done @volkswombat :), you’re nearer than me! On the awkward vertical joint bit, that’s where I may have used a Yorkshire fitting, as I think the solder runs easier inside, rather than trying to get it in with an end feed fitting.

I hope you are in the very good books with @MrsVolkswombat now :)

problem is, you’ve done too good a job, there will be a list of plumbing/heating jobs to do in your own house soon ;)

  12. Cheers, ta for the help too!
It's probably cost me as much as paying a pro to do it as had to buy a gas torch etc but its through my business, and good for business , so not a problem!
