I quite often look at mine and think how the hell did it get like that without me noticing!

  3. Ah well.

Robbed by a Premier League Ref and the EFL rejecting VAR use for the lower league playoffs.
At least we've got Swindon and Bristol Rovers again next season.

Went to "case" this freebie to work out the logistics of moving it ... in sections of course ... and see what repairs/remodelling would be required.
Probably just porch posts/rails and some roof bits by the look of it :)

When I bought this it was £700 and 30 miles away in the grounds of a private hospital. It was built to celebrate the queen's coronation for patients to use. It had a clock on the front and a plaque but the local museum stole them before I got there.

Massive elm rough planks, mahogany floor, Oak windows, soffits, doors etc and a cedar shingle roof. It did come apart in sections - sort of, the walls did. We had to saw the floor in half to get it on the lorry I had to hire. I had to bury it 4" to get it in permitted development but the neighbours loved it - it replaced a minging asbestos garage. It needed new shingles and a few metres of beading on the many windows but the rest, despite being so overgrown you couldn't see it cleaned up great - I have never scraped so much oak.
    I can't find a pic in it's glory days. Here's the divorce/dilapidated version.

That has at least got some character ... This one is only a glorified shed, but we get an "instant" garden studio which will be lined inside and out ... eventually ... and maybe get a steeper pitch on the roof ... maybe with a flat middle section ... and a couple of roof lights near the back ... or in that middle section ... and secondary DG ... aaaaand, who knows what else.
A lot depends on how gung-ho the owner ends up being with the dismantling ... remind me why we said we'd have it?

Luckily for me dismantling it was part of the deal. At the time a new equivalent would have been £30-40K, I spent about £7k by the time I'd finished and used it for an office for many years.

I'd snap that up, but yeah, if someone else dismantles it...good luck!

He's going to make a start and I said if he gets into difficulties or runs out of helpers to phone me and I'll get stuck in.
Freecycle's a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to "offers" ... Some people treat it as a free scrap clearance service.
    He's not one of those.
    Wants to try himself first.
Meanwhile I'm finally ready to start on the last bit of roof and window rebuild .....
