TLB Courier Request, please? Chelmsford.

Hello, I have two, hopefully rust free, Beetle front fenders that have arrived in Chelmsford, Essex, from the US.

They are bulky but not heavy, should go in most vehicles with the back seat down.

Can anyone collect who is nearby and going to TE? I am up in Scotland so it's a fair old drive down for me.

You would need to have some where to store them, so this is quite a big ask.

I am also investigating couriers, of course, but the costs of this lockdown impulse buy are already mounting.

I pass Chelmsford pretty regularly but only to Benfleet/Southend area if that gets them nearer to someone. I am working in Thetford for a week or so though!

 

Thanks for the offer. I could do with them getting either Northbound or to someone who doesn't mind storing them safely and bringing them to TE. Trouble is they're quite large , so it's a big ask.

I have also asked the shipping company how much to send them onto me, tho' I've got a feeling that might instigate a further cashectomy

 

You should have picked them up on your way back from France.

 

I wish! That was my original plan, but the container was held up by US Customs and arrived too late, just by a few days, it was supposed to be in the UK for mid July, which would have been perfect timing. US customs charged the shipping company a small fortune in fees

As long as I give the chap a collection date and pay him, we can leave it until you get back.

Be interesting to see how much he quotes to ship direct. Compared to putting you to the trouble and my detour to collect.
