  1. Ooo we can compare brews :)

    You'll win, trust me!

  2. Ok fermenter emptied today, had a cheeky taster just to make sure all is ok and the result is a bit bland and cloudy but definitely beer:thumbsup:

We now have 60 bottles and 50 ltrs in barrels which should be good to go in 2 weeks.

  3. Will anyone from the TLB Brew Club be at the Guildford to Bournemouth run this weekend ??! :)

  4. Sadly not as I am in the US at the moment.

  5. Bottled up my wilkos real ale today
Couple of days in the warm for secondry fermentation then into the cold for a few weeks

Going to start of the wilkos best bitter kit soon but that will be going into a pressure keg for secondry fementation

  9. Now here is a.n.other big big post from theScottish branch of TLB> (oh yes) background is; I never got why u lot keep/kept banging on re cider ,? cider to me is a brew that is called "Strongbow" which gives me massssive heartburn ,therefore I ignore it,but u lot are forever giving it the"sitting outside the pub drinking a cider>am off to fetch some cider>when we meet we will have a pint of cider>the cider where I live is the best ...."and on and on >fine u lot think Strongbow cider is good?(sad) anyhow PP2 gives me a bottle of cider yesterday ,I have just there, drank it ,it is not Strongbow (I did not know other Co"s made cider) and now >>>I get it ,simply put ,that bottle of cider is the cats pyjamas (liquid cats pyjamas) its beautiful, its a delight, its most likely the most wonderful alcohol I have ever ,I kid you not I love cider now ,so much so I am of in search of more ,stuff Scotland"s "other national drink" being "Irn bru"( el crappo is Irn Bru)> cider ,this cider should be Scotland"s always drink! I love cider !(I am a cider drinker !)TLB is not all about campers u"know !

  15. I calculate alcohol strength by the old fashioned method of seeing how magnetic the walls are
Its strange but it seems real ale makes the walls more magnetic but still allows the hand to type

Cider id the urine of the devil i say

  18. you can use 5 litre water bottles a £1 in the shops with free water...:)

    btw ..
your beer in bottles ,should really be topped up to within an inch of the cap to avoid airborn infection;)

  19. Cheers dude
It the first time ive used bottles and was unsure on how far to fill them
I dont think this will be a good run to be honest as the weather has changed of late here and the temp has sat around 17 deg since i bottled
Ive got about 5mm of sediment in the bottles tonight so im going to leave them to tmw night then put them to chill

The brew has lost a lot of its orange and started to turn a touch darker though

  20. Question time - what happens if you don't store them at the cool temperature before drinking (the instructions always say store for 2 weeks or so)? This weather, I've got nowhere cool to store them (unless I invest in another fridge!). The ones we've drunk so far have been fine though.
