Lou and i have been doing this for years and she suggests i share it with you .

At this time of year most of us buy and cook too much meat or poultry , some if not a lot of it ends up in curry's stews etc but if you really don't fancy rehashing it in this way then you could try this .

    you need -

gravy granules , sealable containers with lids for freezer ( two portion or chinese takeaway plastic ones are best ) carving knife and leftover joint .

    1-Prepare or clean containers .

2- make gravy so as it starts to cool while you -

3 - slice meat into nice slim portions .

4 - put sliced portions into containers

5 - cover with gravy fully ., like this -

    6 - allow to cool

7- add lid to container and pop in freezer .

You now have a ready meat portion for future meals which you can either microwave or cook in the oven depending on container used , remember to heat thoroughly before serving , the meat should be succulent after the time soaked in gravy .

    Buon appetito

  2. Ooh - nice idea. Too late for us for this year though. Moosey's boiled up the bones and made loads of chicken stock to be frozen in usable sized portions (no turkey in this house!), and we had 'leftovers pizza' last night - complete with sprouts, parsnips, meat and stuffing. Yum! :)
