Thats a genuine one dude If its in working condition then its a bargain at £20 Service kits and spares are still available for them if you fancy doing one up
Ive seen enough of them in my time to be able to just tell dude If you compared the quality of the engineering and workmanship to a modern copy then it would jump out a mile at you dude Its a right of passage once you have mastered the lighting of a tilley lamp
I've got one exactly the same put it's got a soldered leak somewhere - should have been brazed. I prefer the Wick type lights - silent and no pressure leaks to worry about. I had a lovely one but accidentally left it in PMACS bus when I sold it to them. I'll get the bugger back one day. Won't I phil ?
Just don't practice in your van as you can get a good 6' of flame out the top if you get it wrong. Cant beat the smell of burning moths
I have one in the loft complete with the A Pole extra i was going to put it on E-bay but cant bring myself to do it to many memories.
Oh that reminds me... did anyone lose a Tilley lamp at Run to the Hills last year? If no one claims it,lovely Paradox has offered it a home and a donation to our mountain rescue team.
It is what it is! There are up sides and down sides. I miss my three boys terribly and made the mistake of looking at some photos last night which didn't help an onset of homesickness. But seeing them tomorrow hurray!
