oh well mine are oval.... anyhoo i won't need them and i don't sell what i got given - thems the rules.
Back to it. Engine - Drove the engine bits round to Robs, ordered some H-beam rods. Will order B&P's on Tuesday. 2l crank is good to go 1700 case will be in better condition as had an easier life. 1700 cam and followers are good. Then back to the hulk for some paint prep and last atempts to fill the panel opposite the slider and wheel arch behind - these are not going to be good, previous crash damage and repairs mean it would have been a big job to get straight, but never mind. I might just have one last go though.
Rob's going to check if it's same lift and approx profile to the 2L one, but essentially yes. The followers will be reprofiled. 2.4L.
Today the van was pushed round to the paint area and I spent a long day cleaning, sanding scuffing, degreasing inside and out, filling pinholes, smoothing out some wobbles...it was very dirty inside. The engine bay can only look better painted. Anyone got a spare lid stay wheel (the one missing in the pic)? More prep to do tomorrow and maybe some paint.
That was a long day, I was still shaping filler on the side panel this afternoon. By the time I was ready to paint it was 8pm and I almost came home, but a slab of fruitcake and a ciggie revived me so I carried on and I primed the whole van inside and out... It was getting pretty late but carry on and a quick scuff is all the primer needs, wait until tmorrow and it'll need flatting back so I painted the inside L90D... All I have to do now is flat the primer, mask up and paint the green.
You have come a long way through a tough journey From sitting in a van drinking coffe avoiding work To being full of activity dead set on your own plan and paving a path others can learn from Bus looks good aswell I will be back later to add those smiley face things
