Mine is lowered and hasn't been an issue.

  2. It doesn't interest me going Subaru in the bus as for me it is a classic air cooled vw and that's what it will stay but I would sling one in a bug or buggy to razz around in but then again 1.9 tdi with a flipped Passat box or if you search eBay there are exotic engines for not much money ... There does seem to be a trend of air cooled - Subaru -T5 .. You can't beat a turbo vw either

Hmm, I wouldn't to taint my bus with a smelly rattly diesel whatever the performance.

I reckon my a/C would have a beetle wheels spinning. I know Rob would have liked to put it in a beetle just to see what it was like.

The trend is from air cooled to either a Subaru or T5, or s T5 post Subaru.

Has only flogged their Subaru yet?

Said time served mechanic zed, recent owner of his own spanering works....

For most people, that would cost a fair few quid...

The diesel engines these days are not the rattly stinkers that the used to be like in the 80's 90's ...but iam sure you know that any way .
I think underneath it all you like the originals ...and understandingly so ,and a diesel is one step further away than Scooby ;)

Yes mine had one but the po kept the engine and bits leaving me with the holes he had made with a blunt axe to fit it.
So I repaired it and fitted a 1600 type 1
If I was to do it again I would fit a 2l type 4

  13. I'm about to buy a camper, split it, ebay everything except the engine & then instal the camper engine into a Classic Impreza!

Almost the reverse of what you did
