`G` was in with a medal shout but crashed hard on the last descent - still brought it home but his skin suit was shredded ... Hope he`s ok , a true contender and deserved better ... (sorry - cycling content...)

Watched some women's rugby sevens last night, you've got to be fit to do that much running! Saw a few good goals from women's footy too. Fab swingy bar routine from gb men's gymnastics And, did anyone watch the men's boxing last night? TjkAnvar Yunosov3-0Jun ShanChn The Tajikistan? Boxer injured his right arm 1st round and fought the next two only punching with his left and won!! Hurrah! It seemed his opponent hadn't realised he wasn't punching with his right. I watched women's weight lifting too @shielsy they didn't even weigh 48 kilos!
The Olympics is a great event. But it is blindingly obvious that the money would be better spent in the country that hosts it, the line between the expenditure of the opening ceremony and the poverty surrounding the stadium is clear and the blatant ignorance is ridiculous. So I don't watch any more. People should stop and think what the world is really like, the struggles that go on daily, the needless deaths occuring every minute due to poverty and not blind all the 'floaty brained people' with fireworks. It is infuriating. I hope you all enjoy it, it really is a great event, and props to all of the athletes. The power lifting was my favourite. I do miss it a bit when everyone talks about it. But I hold strong values.
Just watched GB v Canada in the women rugby 7. Excellent. Fast, throwing the ball around and some cracking tackles. Top stuff.
Just watched a video of a gymnast bloke vaulting, landed and snapped his leg, darent post it on here - it wasn't very pleasant to watch
The Dutch girl who was leading the cycling road race has also had an awful looking crash. Apparently conscious though in shock but I'll be relieved if she's escaped serious injury
Saw that... Glad she's not seriously injured.. And the poor yank girl got mugged in the last 100 yards...
Me too , i never root for our American cousins but i wanted her to get something but that`s cycling for you - all or nothing . The crash was horrendous - SO PLEASED van Vleuten seems to be shocked but moving in hospital - i really thought she`d broken her neck the way she crumpled into the fence ....
