  1. Finally got the dash back in after it's respray. Amazed to learn from a scribble in the back of the Haynes manual that came with it that the 'best match' colour we chose from halfords was in fact that exact same colour the van was resprayed in. Success! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1361724589.352639.jpg

The pads get stuck to the drums. Some seem to suffer, some don't. Might be easiest to chock the heels and leave the brake off in the damp weather.

  3. That is a good colour match John what colour is it called?
I used to have a mini that looked the same colour

Oh and is that a brazzilian steering wheel?

  4. It's Fiat Broom Yellow. Was so chuffed to have picked the correct one. The previous owners have all written the work carried out in the back of the haynes manual up until 2000 (which makes v interesting reading :D)
No the steering wheel is (I think) from a T4. It was plonked on by a po and it doesn't fit properly so there is about an inch gap between the wheel and the indicator off switchy things. It's on the list of things to sort out :)

  5. The same thought occurred to me and I have done just that. My garage floor has a bit of a slope so i used to leave it with the brake on. I have a brick behind the rear wheel now which will cause some fun when I forget i have done it and try to reverse out next time.

I have been out in horrible salty weather recently which won't have helped matters. Still, everything on the rear brakes is cleaned, lubed and reassembled now including the handbrake cables which were a bit stiff too. I gave the brake shoes and drums a rub with an emery pad to clean up the surface a bit. You could see where the shoes had stuck.

I'm in a nice warm kitchen now and a beer beckons!
