'The greatest ever VW convoy for people going to techenders from the south/west (including Droitwich

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by Mattlad, Mar 6, 2014.

  1. Good stuff- I'll be wearing something distinctive so you can recognise me- maybe a pair of jeans and a t shirt.

It's true- I've had to give up working to keep on top of the administration of this event and believe you me, I'm flat out........

I think the comments about the holidays was a little out of order. True I'm on holiday now and there is another holiday booked in April/May but then we're not going anywhere until a nice fortnight away in June. Ok so there maybe a few weekends away in the van too but those don't really count.

  2. Unbelievably this dropped off the first page.

There has been so mAny requests to join what is now being hailed as the greatest ever collection of similar vehicles ever on a journey from Bristol to somewhere in Leicestershire ( on or around the last week in April (2014)) that new applicants are required to submit their request to join along with the following. Breathe:

    - A full summary of the vehicle specification
    - photographs of front rear and side of vehicle
    - Photographs if front rear and side of owner/driver ( female only)
    - a cheque or postal order to the value of £25-00
    - one crate of beer or bottle of good rum.

This will allow the official committee to select the most appropriate vehicles/owners.

    Don't miss out....

  6. Change your life it certainly will - this event is guaranteed to be the highlight of the VW social calendar. Right up there with the time that @Baysearcher reversed his van into a skip, that he just walked past, on his own driveway....

  20. Marvellous....

    All systems go....

The, what is now being recognised as the most overhyped parade of VW t2 vans, is nearly ready to roll.

I've phoned the highway authorities and they have kindly agreed that we can use the roads and they have even put out celebratory orange (to match my van) traffic cones out along much of the M5 to commemorate the occasion. How thoughtful.
