    Yes flat glass, patterned reflector.
Not sure if the bit in the middle is removable on these?

It's probably just the photo making one thing look like another anyway.

  3. Did a full rot survey underneath. Depressing :(

  6. Sigh. It never stops. He lives round the windy, rainy side of the house, which seems to rot just one side.

RH sill bottom needs plating up. RH wheel arch has gone a bit crusty (ironically starting at the hole where VW injected the rust proofing ) - out with the filler for that one, life's too short.

Main thing is the front steps, which have rotted off (again). Was in a bit of a quandary as to how to fix without faffing with a full arch. Arches are in good shape. Enter...drum roll...Schofields, who have started doing a proper step repair section. Yaay! Much better than the KlokkerKrap...things. Bloody pricey, but cheaper than a full panel.

That panel looks like a good solution to the problem.

Are they just cutting them from arches? I remember they used to sell an upper front panel repair which was just a front panel cut off halfway up the indicators. It was only cheaper than a whole front because the postage was less.

  9. They do look loads better but I think labour wise a full arch may be quicker and give a better final finish.

That certainly was the case with the hopeless Klokker ones, but if these fit properly I'd think this would be a lot quicker and generally less invasive and messy? I just looked at the price of the good arches too! You could buy a very nice mig welder with the £460 change.

  12. Yep. Well done Schofields. Only alternative previously was a full arch, which are now heading north of £350, or the appallingly bad KlokkerKrap. Fingers crossed they fit!

  18. Off to the dump twice, then a well-needed scrub to remove the coating of filth.

Romp round the evening countryside to dry him out. Smooth as a smooth thing, covered in smoothness. Real fun to drive, although blasting down the '303 at 70mph does deplete the fuel reserves.
