  4. by ripping the heart out of it, I've put a huge smile on my face, I've sworn along the way, had endless moments of being lied on my back, wondering what the hell am i doing... days of ponder and hesitation..

but yes, 2 months to the day and it was worth every pump of swarfega and every ripped glove.

teething issues to sort but... i can sort them

Decided to buy a clutch plate for £24 delivered from GSF as the old one I had turned out to be grottier than I first thought. GSF had a 40% sale on clutch parts.
So I will prepare a pile of bits .. clutch plate and crank shaft oil seal.. and have a go at engine out, replace bits, engine in, this weekend.

Fettled my timing a little. This little ex beetle engine with a ‘1600 big bore kit’,stops and starts as though it just came off the line, sort of…
I’m surprised at its performance, compared to how it was.
Seems to be better on fuel. F841BF60-BD20-4F43-BEC7-6AC43EF796A1.jpeg

Replaced the clips that held the awning up.
The females were sutured using whipping twine, which was easier than expected.
The male ends were adjustable so they were not a problem.
Used G clamps to hold the awning in position whilst surgery was in progress.
All good so I'm a happy bunny.
Again one of those jobs that needs doing and also a relief to know its been done.
