Ooerr.. at least it didnt disintegrate in a shower of rusty filler.

You can straighten up the edge of the front panel, but for the door a bit of bashing may be possble from inside, but I think the front bit is obscured from the rear by the structure of the inner skin meeting the front edge of the outer skin..

At least protect and touch up paint the gouges so it doesnt rust, check the other side for cracks in the paint and sand and protect. Just so it doesnt rust while you look sadly at it every day you use your bus..

Provided its all pushed below the original surface, filler may be your friend.

  2. I'm going to take the door card off, drill a few 20mm holes in the inner door skin and knock a half inch extension through it to flatten the panel.

I'll put a piece of wood on the insde to spread the impact

Darn it. That's going to need fixing sooner rather than later, isn't it?

It's going on the other side too and the battery tray is about toasted

I was hoping to drop the engine back in when it's back together, then drive it for a bit before any other work

There's an old TLB saying: "don't look until you're mentally prepared to fix it".
Obviously a lot less work with the engine already removed. Check out how if/how far it extends past that bulkhead the wires go through as that adds to the fun.

What you see is pretty much it as far as I can tell. There might be a bit more happening on the (better looking) offside, as this is what the valance looks like at the end of the chassis rail

I'm guessing it's not seen any waxoil in a while

  7. That’s a good quote!

I have various tasks mentally filed away for the future, under headings such as:
    -Currently impossible/scary
    -Currently unaffordable
    -Makes sense done later
-That’s a complete nightmare; why me, why me!?!

Find a set of copper dollies to do the job without just denting it up worse with the hard ends of the extension..
If hitting it with an extension is what you intend doing, you will need filler so you dont need to bother making it more crumpled first...just use filler.

I just looked and you can actually get something behind the panel without too much trouble sliding it forward into the gap from between the inner and outer structures of the door .. there are vent holes there so the inner skin is actually some distance back from the outer skin.

Look up panel beating but it may be that putting a heavy curved dolly behind the panel and using a hammer on the outside you can make the door come back into better shape.

I just checked - basic panel beating sets are about £23 on eBay.

And the new replacement panels ready to go.

That blue tarp was to keep the water out of the holes in the load bed. Will hopefully be redundant soon.

Took one of the engine hatch hinges off.. its a bit worn .. probably one reason why the hatch pops open.

  20. Obviously gate posts attract Sage Green vans :(. I could've kicked meself up the bum.

Bumper's attached to Westy-style towbar, so only a thin bracket that's got bent. A bit of hammer-age will sort it.
