  1. Go on…you’d only spend it on drink…

  2. Ow mooch ;)

  3. See your doc. You get a sedative that temporarily supresses Yorkshire genes ;)

  4. I bought one last year......which drawer did I put it in.
I go search for it and maybe even fit it

  6. Not a bad price. Which ones did you get?

  7. Been thinking about this, might go down this route if the "love returns", not worth it if she's not a keeper; I won't get my investment back. Most buyers wouldn't even care about what dizzy is in there.

I was very impressed at how well @simon's engine was running after I helped him tune it and he cleaned the jets at TE.

When I sold my previous bus I looted it first. Sold the spanky engine and put the 1600 back in it. Sold the VS exhaust. Kept the carbs, distributor, solar and Eber. I don't think it made one iota difference to the price I got for it despite that lot adding up to about £5K to replace.

  9. Had a very interesting drive up Hardknott Pass from Eskdale in the rain yesterday.
It went pretty well until I hit one of the upper switchbacks that was polished like glass and slippery as a slippery thing.
The wife freaked out as the wheels span and we stopped making headway
Got really interesting when the handbrake wouldn’t hold her, nothing to do with the wife driving with the handbrake on the previous day I’m sure
Eventually the wife got out to calm her nerves while I ran back n forward between the bend and the drop, well the kindly placed boulders to stop me going over anyway.
Eventually started up again only to have some old git, the muppet, in a new Merc stop in the middle of the road coming down and not pulling over into the passing bay more fun, not....
Finally got going and the wife got back in after about 1/2 a mile: soaking wet and a pile of jelly...
I don’t think I will try that again in the rain, if at all....
It was an interesting drive though!

  14. Struggling to get a massive leisure battery out/in without scratching paint when there are millimetres of margins on every plane?

Slip a silicone mat underneath and it slides.

Still need a forklift truck to get up n in there though.

I cycled up that a few years back. I member on those switch backs that, even in the dry, cars were wheel spinning to keep the grip
