I fitted the kit from Aircooled works 2 years ago. The kit including cut off solenoid was/is great but I found the clips pretty useless. As soon as any amount of pressure was put on the screwdriver slot sheared. I spoke to the company owner about the problem but he said he hadn’t come across that problem.Chucked them and used alternative a”proper” clips.

"Hadn't come across that problem " ... are you sure you didn't phone JK,? that's one of their stock responses to complaints.

Nobody’s saying particularly confident things about these clips so I’ve bought some 11mm stainless normal ones.

  5. Sods law moment. Dropped the tv remote in the van & one of the batteries decided to roll into the floor heater outlet
A fair bit of fishing & bad language ensued

  6. True, if it is 1/4” etc. The Gates stuff is true 6mm and 8mm ID (actually slightly less).

Just fitted an autovox M1 rear view camera. A brilliant cheap piece of kit. I paid under £50 for it and was given £5 credit for positive feed back. The camera is mounted on the rear licence plate, very inobtrusive and the screen fits very neatly between the steering column and dash, I’ve wired it up to a switch so can see even if not in reverse gear. The yellow ball in the photo is my tow bar and the first red lines at 90 degrees are 10 inches from the tow bar. Fitted the LED compatible flasher relay , wasted half an hour because the dashboard indicator bulb was almost completely blackened and it was sunny.. showed up in the dark.. This time I was able to fit a LED in that position too.

Not a problem, if it is I’ve got the tow bar to rely on! The camera actually gives quite a wide perspective and is after all only an aid.

Yep, few stories on the web about these fuel regulators, so out it’s come while I’m doing the hoses.
As suggested I’ll go for Malpassi Petrol King. Gotta be good with a name like that - sounds like a 1960s TT winner

  16. "Junk" seems to be a frequent description :)

The Malpassi's a dinky little thing. Try and get one with stepped 6mm/8mm unions. Or you could use your existing 6mm one if the thread is 1/8" NPT.

Only seem to have non stepped either 6mm or 8mm available on eBay. I would have thought 8mm would be safest?

  18. 8mm will do for the hose to the carbs, but won't you need 6mm hose/unions for the line from the pump?

My carbs and fuel pump and tank outlet are all 6mm. The air cooled works hose for this is internal diameter 5.5mm. Hose supplied is all this size throughout. So I guess the I should go for the regulator with 6mm at both sides.

strange thing is that the old regulator that I’ve just taken off has 8mm each side. But 6mm sounds correct
