cheers... the rims themselves are 16” syncro rims. Can’t remeber off the top of my head what tyre size is

Surprisingly not a lot of road noise from them, being AT’s

 

Tried out the air pump @Barry Haynes sent me. Works a treat. And it's got a little light on

 

Gave my air filters a good wash'n'brush-up. Paused to admire my rather spiffy ram pipes...

This is the Pierburg I bought. Good, but pricey.

 

I had a bit of a crispy outer sill on the rear nearside and in a mad moment of idle curiosity I decided to have a pick at it.

Wish I hadn’t - it’s a typical South African repair with 2 panels layered over one another, held in place by rivets and loads of filler..



I’m hoping I’m not in over my head here, but there’s no going back.

Going to chop it all out until I get to some good metal and start again.

Then I’ll be on the C&C & Schofields websites to see what’s available for crew cabs.

Painted around the light units as they were a big abused. Removed masking tape with the obligatory amount of spray paint attached to it.



I swear i’ll end up hand painting the whole thing!



Think the engine bay might have a light in it when i’m done.

What carbs and filters are you using??

 

DRLA40s with cheapy VWH filters. I do spray them with K&N oil, so that makes them the same

 

Posh masking tape is worth the money, also having it stuck on the paint for as short a time as possible helps, but sometimes...there is nothing you can do, you are at the mercy of the last git's prep.

 

Fitted a new adjustable r&r bed, can be any width down from full width.

two questions: where did you get the USB thing for charging phones etc? And also, is the air pump plugged in using a 12v cigarette lighter?

Ha ha yes, my PO paid £5k in 2011 to some gits for a respray. Looked great when I bought it, but there doesn’t seem to have been any prep prior to spraying at all.
I use Frog tape. The mildest adhesion stuff, still some paint pings off with it.
Oh well, it forces me to get creative.
