Vale if Pickering quiet near me. I recommend taking the steam strain line to Goatland, Grosmont etc. Eden camp is also a cracker if you’re into first and Second World War. It’s really interesting for all family as you pass through the original barrack huts.

20 zones aren't just a Southern fing, sadly.

 

Heaved myself under the bus for a scouting mission for all the stuff that needs doing. Realised I bloody hate getting under it these days. Also realised I'd put the (hot) Eberspacher exhaust right next to the main heater pipe. What a dope.

 

Fitted a Seaflo fan so hopefully will have a little heat to the cab.

 

Wire had popped off lower of the 2 idle valve...but not enough to be noticable...on way back from Scarborough it proper popped off, so I could see the problem.
Now it's back on and running fine.
Will try and nip connector up a bit at home... if zi do it on site , I'll probably break it.

 

Brushed it out, and put the door panels back on.

 

The other thing I did just now was to take the spark plugs out, wipe down the insulators, and the dustributor cap inside and out, re-gap the plugs and put them in again (I thought I had a spare set but no..) as it was bucking like crazy at low RPM, missing on one cylinder at idle . Then once you got it going it would run well. Basically the vacuum advance must have been giving the spark too much gap in the distributor cap to jump so it dropped the voltage too far or went somewhere wrong, missing the spark plug gap completely. At idle it was probably too far the other way with the gap in the distributor between the rotor and the plug lead contacts.
