  2. Probably best to have the other side changed as well. It won't be far behind.

  5. My bus has always passed no problem, or so I thought until I checked the MOT history, appears it failed on a minor and was retested and passed at no extra cost to me and repair done foc, think the garages need to keep their pass rates within certain parameters to keep visa off their backs

They tested it because it may well have passed without them doing the work. Which would be good news for many people as it saves the garage time and the customer money..
At least I hope that they fix it quickly so the MOT tester is still the same guy. Mine failed on sills. They were fixed. Some time later it was retested. Original tester off sick. And it passes sills and fails on something else.. another delay... fixed, passes.

Technically, if it leaves their premises between fail and retest they are supposed to do the whole test again.

  10. That's what they're for

Moving on a little bit from my volt meter fit at the weekend..

I modified a retro voltmeter by popping off the bezel and covering the ‘Smiths’ logo with an Empi sticker.

Still needs final fit as it’s not firmly in the pod yet and the back light is not yet working.

    Rain stopped further play today.

  12. You may find that your van rejects anything made by Smiths...

  13. Fixed the air leak which meant it wouldn't idle (carb gasket too thin), Got the cab door to close properly (using a jack and some blocks of wood), got a better working handbrake, sorted the headlight flasher (brown and white wire was off on of the connection blocks), fettled the gears a bit more. Well I didn't do all of this on my own the legend Mr Tim Flynn came over for some socially distance assistance. All in all a good day. Apart from the poxy wiper motor which defeated even him. Next stop new motor/switch. Also adjusted steering box - not going to bother with idler pin for now.
