Used it as originally intended…. picked up new fridge freezer from Curry’s for son lugged it up to his 3rd floor flat and took old one to tip.
Ready for an afternoon snooze now.

  3. A good day. I went back to the summer of 2000. I was 25 at the time and I’d just bought the van with my wife while we were visiting her mother down south. She was my girlfriend of 1 year then. We’d just bought it from a Mr & Mrs Britten in Ringwood who’d had it since 1976. Only this year have we had it longer than them.

Great news. I managed to give my younger self some advice. Not too ambitious like “buy a house in London if you can” or “bitcoin”. That’s probably just bad karma I reckon. I just went with these two words. Like a half day job. So simple.

I just whispered “CAVITY WAX” in my younger, hairless ear. Like it was just carried on the wind.

And so happily I’ve had the day to myself just chilling with my family, nap after lunch. Just took it out for a drive.. in its pristine state. Rather than rolling around in the garage the entire day trying to find things I’ve literally just put down trying to prepare a small part of it for some paint.

  6. I think he's more bothered about driving back to be honest , hopefully he remembered to put the solar onto the starter battery ....
It'll get him back on a good charge .
I 'may' have a spare alternator in the garage !

  9. Yes, you do. Easy peasy, if you get an alt with a built in regulator (and an alt stand).

@CollyP will be able to charge his roller blades up much quicker. He'll thank you for it

I know they say a alternator stand is different but does anyone know what the difference is as I couldn’t see any difference

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

The distance front to back/position of the cup part the alt/dynamo sits on I believe. The ones you now can buy new work for both.
The plate they attach to the fan housing is also different.

Went camping in it! I have a meeting in Ely tomorrow, and even though it’s only up the road from Cambridge thought it was a good excuse for an overnight stop. On the way home from the pub I saw a barn owl which was awesome! When I get back to my laptop I will see if I managed to get a pic![IMG]

  17. Were you by any chance joining the M4 eastbound from the A34 junction about 1.15pm today?

No. Sadly I was stuck in the office at work, answering emails, answering the phone, and trying to input stocktake data.
I am not designed to be indoors, it does not make me happy. But now I am in my camper, and all is right with the world. :)

.....ironically I'm about 8 miles from home, 2 miles from work, in a field I drive passed twice a day. But it's lovely!

  19. Well I passed a jaffa bay just there yesterday, en route to Exeter to retrieve son number 3 after a university placement year there.

A lovely 4.5 hours there and 3.5 hours back.......

I imagine every other bugger in the country was heading it that direction! The drive home must've been positively joyful in comparison.
Nice to know there's still a few bays to be seen out on the road..... I see hardly any apart from in fields at techenders or Keith's.
