Techenders virtual campout 24th-26th April

In normal TE style I had a late start then spent 15 minutes taking a t25 rear hub and trailing arm apart. Then spoke to davidoft for ages(also normal for TE) now I'm having a beer

Are you going to finish the bay before lockdown is over?

 

At this rate, I might even have the Bus out of the garage by the time the Sun is over the yardarm

With trepidation, as I'm at my first techenders, does anybody know, or have an opinion (light the fireworks) of what type of pipe the crankcase breather pipe to my air filter needs to be? My current one is a very stiff pipe (yay yay) and it gets in the way. So I'd rather have a more flexible one!

 

I imagine fuel hose would do the job.

 

Nowt on the bus today ...
Just more on the build, and a bit of gardening.

Back in the day i just wandered down the scrappy and picked a hose from a scrap car with roughly the right size and curve - still there 20 years on .

What air filter have you got ??

 

Yep that is what I've got but in my experience that diameter fuel pipe is stiff and tends to push the elbow on the filter. I was wondering if it is only venting fumes then will any old pipe do?

 

Not how I imagined Techenders I of 2020 to be...then again my camper isn’t exactly how I imagined it to be by now Hopefully ready by Techenders II of 2020 - even if we aren’t allowed out.

Least I have my beverages lined up.

Been a productive day for me, not really Techenders field fodder though , and looks very similar to how I started the day! Also finished off the box section bender I’ve been making

Now off home for a couple of

 

Right ! I claim the "silly bugger of the day" award, had the sliding door off to remove lots of gunge in the mechanisms all well and good, refit door now repeat after me"DON'T FORGET TO REFIT THE END STOP BEFORE YOU SLAM THE DOOR" off it fell onto the concrete driveway, it's a good job the finish is rubbish.

 

I have a confession:

I have got the bus out and am sleeping in it but am actually upgrading the shocks/springs on my MX5. Still a lot of swearing and skinned knuckles. Was planning to do some work on the bus tomorrow but I only managed to get the front two shocks on!

Hopefully will still have time tomorrow to clean/protect the last wheel arch to do on the bus.
