TECHENDERS SEPTEMBER 2014 (APRIL 2015 DATE NOW KNOWN)

me and @zed were talking and remembering techenders of old had a number after them, can any of you old hands remember where we are at? was "coming of age" the 18th? in which case when was it? are we close to the 25th? maybe have a silver anniversary - unless of course we missed it.... @tuesday_wildchild can you work it out based on old pictures from when you dressed as women?

Searching the JK forum, Tekenders 5 was the early 2005 one, shouldnt take too long to count up!

 

Assuming there has been 2 a year since then, the next one will be 25.

 

That makes this one TE24 25 th onewill be in April 2015 as long there was two a year since 05

 

so i guessed right, i feel some gimmiky theme getting planned then hopefully falling on its arse while normality wins.

 

You could make the theme 'having a bit too much to drink and making a bit of a tit of yourself' and then we can all join in.

 

If it is main crankshaft seal that's an engine out job Ed, shame really cos Doug was complaining that there were no engines out this time round

Sorry not being callous, hope you get it sorted. It happened to us at our first TE, but luckily just before so we got it sorted there....

 

Thanks every one for a great techenders. Got back to Norfolk in around 3 hours. Nice to meet everyone and am looking forward to the next one. I might even have the drivers seat fitted by then!

 

Think the first one we went to was The Dirty Dozen one, I thought that was 2006 but if 5 was in 2005 I'm way out

Great weekend, lovely to meet a lot of new faces and even more old ones.
Where else could you go camping with a stinky cold, 2 cream cakes and a bottle of orange juice, and survive the whole weekend?

...I tried to overtake someone on the way home, foot hard down to pick up speed ready, then a car came the other way so had to abort. But the accelerator had jammed on full throttle. Luckily the engine isn't terribly powerful and I managed to slow it down with the brakes. I had to leave it running in case the steering lock locked and didn't fancy knocking it out of gear and over-revving the engine to destruction.

While simultaneously stamping on the pedal in the vague hope it would unstick, which it didn't, the pedal linkage fell off and must be in the front pan.

Sorted with a bit of tent peg bodgery as had zero tools to get the pan off and retrieve the linkage. That's the only thing I did to the van over the weekend.

 

Did anyone get a photo of @Merlin Cat's fab interior, especially the shag mat!? Meant to take one to show my wife as she'd love it!
