Is anyone by any chance bringing a decent jack? I guess it will be easier, even on a stock height van, to do the underneath bit of a Buttys Bits throttle linkage with the van a bit higher? I’ve got a set of halfrauds 3 ton axle stands, but my little trolley jack won’t be man enough I fear.

  12. What weight range of trolley jack have you got, I've only got a small 2 tonne one and that lifts mine fine. The front end of a bus is also noticeably lighter than the rear. Whatever jack you use, a strong board to put it on is recommended otherwise trying to use it in a field is more likely to lead to the jack sinking down rather than the bus going up:D

  13. dont forget something to lay on.

Fair point, I’ve got a compact 2 ton one. It’ll lift my car to change a wheel but thought the van might kill it! Good reminder about some boards!

I’ve got a couple of ramps made from railway sleepers , get the bus high and will work well in a field , I’ll chuck them on the back of the pickup
