I'm just hoping the forecast is wrong - going to pop across to Tatton tomorrow to see how the BBQ area is

  5. Fingers crossed for some dry weather - wet and windy last year which kept me away - I know - I'm a fair weather camper.

  6. I hate saying no to things, I really do, but 3-4hrs (one way) in bad weather just puts me off.

Just looked at BBC weather/Met Weather and it looks very wet :(

  7. I'm taking a gas BBQ as we're going in my work van ,also some sort of meat things

Are you going to see if we can get into that original bbq area in the trees @bernjb56 ?

I asked them already by email about that and they said no. I'm just going to check where we are going to be and check how wet it is and see if there are any other options.

There's a car park on the left just before those woods, old hall I think, which would be nicer!

We've been over to Tatton this morning and the BBQ area is in the same place as the last 2 years, which is past the main car park and follow the signs. That is the only place available but the ground is pretty firm at the moment. So we have @Flakey and @jivedubbin bringing gas BBQs, we'll bring a small charcoal one. @JennyB is making Bubble'n'Squeak soup and we'll bring some sausages as well. @yorkshirecampers is bringing burgers. @jivedubbin pigs in blankets. We could do with a couple of tables, we'll bring one. Forecast is grim for tomorrow but looking better for Sunday at the moment.

We are aiming to be there from about 11.30am but anytime around lunch-time is good. The idea is to spend some time at Tatton trying to keep warm and stuffing our faces and then anyone who wants to can follow on back to ours for coffee and warmth before wandering down to our village for the Xmas fair, starts at 4pm - until 7pm. Folk can get away anytime they like - it's not a 3 hour fair! but there will be more food and Xmas stuff going on.

Looking at the forecast and thinking of relocating to our house for the lunch as well. I think people with no van to shelter in are having second thoughts.
