Because rickyroo isnt lord congi with two stylish t2's in the garage . although we do love rickyrooo.
I know I never did, loved his t5 build and miss him and the others. It is the future I will keep the landy but an absolute beauty rhd moonrakers coming up for sale soon, priced to sell.
Cos it was rick i guess. Folk seemed to like having a pop, in jest or otherwise. Plus......weve moved on and dont have woody tlling us....its the future!
Several reasons I guess. - If we'd taken the Mick out of Dave he wouldn't care; much less react to it. - Dave's is a proper camper job. - Dave doesn't bang on and on and on about how it's the best thing since sliced bread and try to get everyone to bin off their bays. Etc etc
Maybe he's trying to secretly do it! He's already hooked us as it looks such a nice van. Then he's going to put ace photos of his comfy, fast trip to Portugal. Prob a photo of him looking all refreshed inside with the air con onwhile it's scorchio outside etc. Then will come the e onomics of how much more he could spend on tapas and cervesa due to fuel savings. Finally, will be the extra time he got on the beach due to getting there quicker. ( unless you have a suburu engine) By then we will be drawn in and subconsciously comparing our bays to T5's!
I think a lot of folk have thought would a newer van be more sensible. It would in most cases but it would also be more boring. I really enjoy the feeling of a trip being an adventure and properly time out from everyday life heading off in a frankly ridiculous bright orange 40 yr old iconic van at 7 mph. Our campervans over 15 yrs have been largely reliable too.
There was a difference in presentation. If you come on the late bay extolling the virtues of not a late bay, you are, frankly....fair game.
Maybe for balance. @Lord Congi - ha ha aha ha a T5 -you're such a loser with your big blue builders van. Ha ha. Ohh look at me in my new T5 it's got a shower in it. H ha ha ha I'm gonna take a dump in my new shower.
Just searched for Rickyroo's T5 post, but can't find it or him or any thread related to him has he been deleted from space and time ?, seems a bit odd
I was interested to see the thread though, I don't think he really got all that much aggravation over the van, it was more wanting to have a T5 specific section.
I quite like them ! They have their own cult following sort of thing and seem to have the majority Some look at you with a You are a such a "Has been" look Some still give a wave . The more of them I see the more comfortable I feel being in the minority I will stay with it until Forced to give it up
They have their own clubs and forums now Whereas it used to seem that owners Of them used to try to convince us That they were the same thing
