  1. Im on the verge of cutting the bulkhead out on the passenger side....

Would just like some inspiration/examples to take a look at..

Can anyone post a pick of the bulk head removed with swivel?!

just need that push to take the risk!

@RM92 Took these for @vanorak a while ago. The way Westfalia did it. He may have more in his collection.:D

There is a bit of knock-on trim that was OG installed on the small upright edge they left around the base of the cut. You can make out the screw hole for the end cap just to the right of the tape measure in pic 1.

  4. Thanks @theBusmonkey much appreciated. Do you think its worth having that bit of extra space?

Oh yes. One of the best mods you can make to the interior IMO.
The bus seems massive with the passenger seat facing into the rear.

  6. I attended a festival in my bus in September, and with the bed down it seemed rather cramped! so this is what im thinking!

  7. I went down a slightly different route to try and keep some strength from the bulkhead.

  8. @deadturtle how does that sit up against your legs or is there still quite a nice bit of room? I like that, very tastefully done!

  9. Its grand, looks tighter than it is when locked in.You can see at the bottom it is clear of the seat base. the seat can be pulled forward and swings round hitting the bulkhead. More pic in my resto thread.

If I get near the lockup this weekend I will take some better pictures of the positioning and get a life model to sit in it.

  10. thatll be great thanks

  11. Funnily enough I've just decided to do this exact thing myself. I have a full bulkhead tho, so will have to be inventive over the spare wheel well. I plan to keep the well as storage and just have it as a climb through/ able to have a swivel seat. Will have to work out how to do the drivers side bulkhead or find someone with a cut!

Out of interest do you already have your swivel seats? Need to find one myself.

    Cheers

  12. No sadly I don't I am looking into it and the actual swivel plates aren't cheap!

  13. Yeah that's what I've found. I like the idea of getting a captains chair style seat with the armrests. I think these were in t25s so going to look into the possibility of using them!

I'll defs do a build thread when I do mine. The biggest worries I have centres around my spare wheel well and the impact that has on mounting of my passenger swivel seat.

Out of interest @RM92, is yours a left or right hand drive, and what year? Mines a rhd 1972 crossover, with full bulkhead.

  14. Mines a little bit easier, it's a 1978 Devon with walk through so mines just the minor passenger chop in comparison!!! Yes I'd be keen to see that I'll be doing the same in a few weeks time at Easter!

  15. Not sure when I'll start mine. Want to source a seat and then work out how to mount it before I go ahead and chop. Want it done before the end of the summer though!

  16. Why bother. Drivers one doesnt need to be there either.

  17. t25 ones pop up on ebay ...;)

  18. Mine are from a t25. They are from a viking and very heavy tbh

  19. Just because I will have a unit behind it and will make it a lot tidier. Can also store stuff behind my seat like I do now.

  20. I used to but not any more! Lol. Also put a swivel on the drivers side but probably not worth the trouble.
