Stuck clutch lever

  1. Hi guys, I'm trying to remove the clutch lever from my spare gearbox so that I can inspect and overhaul the operating shaft components but so far no joy in getting it to budge from the shaft. The manuals say that it can simply be levered off once the snap ring is removed but mine seems to have become permanently bonded to the shaft. I managed to get a 2 leg puller hooked onto it but even with a considerable force applied it hasn't moved. Also tried shocking the shaft out with a brass drift but still no joy. So is there a knack or special technique or is heat going to be my next option?

  2. I had a look at the parts diagram and there shouldn't be anything else holding it on so a gentle heat might help
