Starter motor wiring

  1. Afternoon good folks of TLB. I'm changing my fuel lines and after removing said line from the tank I noticed this thin grey wire loose, so my obvious question is where should it be attached to? I'm assuming I caught it as I pulled the fuel pipe of the tank.[IMG]

  2. Looking at it, the wire can only go to the Pos terminal on the solenoid as it won't reach anything else. I've just tried to start it and it spun over and started straight away so is it actually redundant?
    Any idea @zedders

  3. Is it actually crimped on properly, or does it look like something someone’s bodged on afterwards. Colour of the wire? Where’s the other end go?

I wouldn’t just randomly connect it elsewhere.

Sorry, it's so dirty I can't see what colour it is. Does it disappear into the loom? If not where does it go?
Could it be a wire to the "computer" socket? It would be redundant in that case.

  5. It's grey and disappears into the grey sheathing around the thick red wires and do I guess into the noisy cupboard. Looking on Ratwell I'm thinking it may go to either the snail fan(which has never worked anyway) or to the diagnostic socket.

Have you looked on a wiring diagram?

  8. There is a small grey wire in the diagnostics circuit on the battery feed, diagrams normally have it popping out of the battery end but cable could have been reversed or just done differently..

  9. Cheers all, that's the conclusion I came too as well. I'll tape it out of the way:thumbsup:
