Stalks

  1. I am back onto the resto of my bus after a delay of a few months (resto update to follow), but having dismantled the steering column the wiring for the indicator and wash wipe switches are shot, and the stalks not good either.

I have purchased new ones from JK but they come from different manufacturers and one is good quality and dark grey, whilst the other is black with some of the white writing smudged off. I could live with this, but disappointed due to the cost and would prefer to have 2 that matched. The dodgy one is the wash wipe, and looking on VWH and AHS website I suspect they are from the same manufacturer.

Anyone replaced theirs with decent ones?

Good used is probably the way to go.

It just takes longer to find but often worth it in the long run.

  3. Hi, I may have a solution if yours are the late cast metal type stalks and you are happy to do some prep and rattle can spraying. Here is an extract from the 'Control Stalk Graphics' thread I posted:

"I tried to make a mini template but it was too difficult, so I turned to https://www.machinerydecals.co.uk/ and the very nice Titch Sanders was most helpful. I have used his expert services for a classic tractor a motorcycles and even a lawnmower and the quality value and service is excellent. So Titch sent me a few sets and this is how they look:"
