Well chuffed with how these turned out
Also loving the ability to “just roll under the bus” to fix stuff

  5. Um ...no not really, although I think I did have to take steering column out including removing steering wheel to slide the outer sleeve off! Think also 13mm ratchet ring spanner helps! Think there’s a “how to”On removing column on the samba C7B4FE3D-6FAE-4CAC-A64C-0E9E6FB921A6.jpeg 00A3B194-4274-4F20-A445-4109349C150B.jpeg BBD4FC06-769F-4AE9-BA0B-F49D8FAE22DA.jpeg

You can do it from underneath without removing anything in cab, although I did remove the two screws that hold the cup at the bottom which gave more movement underneath to get 13mm spanner on bolt heads.

  10. Think I did that on my old prototype bay just a juggling act to re fit washers/bolts etc, not sure if late bay different just it decided easier to remove whole lot as was all semi apart already!

  12. The slotmags look great. I got a set for my bug years ago but they were 6" and zero offset and stuck out the wings by 2". :(

Here’s one I made earlier! Easy when you’ve something to copy .... might use the other one to modify the tinware, if I can’t find a real 2.0 piece.

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

That particular piece of tin isn't one that typically rots so there should be spares around.

Pity. Unless someone like FBI VW has one stashed away

  19. Think I might even have one removed from a type 4 engine I was modifying for my split.....prob right at the back of my lockup underneath everything......is hunting /travelling for bus spares considered essential:D
