I'd vote for Kent but then I would. How about gorgeous Suffolk? Southwold area? Fenlands are beatiful, esp for bird lovers, and lots to see and do. Middling too? Not that I'd come if the A levels aren't over by then. Taken over my life and I'm not even the one doing them!
So after reading some of the posts and thinking about it if we ever get this off the ground this year, A nice easy to get too central location is what I'm gonna go for, Quite a few of the Northern lot will be doing Eskdale around the same time and Sandybay, lardy. mkbay and a few others look like they are going to camp down in Kent also at the same time for you southern lot
us suvern lot have ventured norfer thou and still will , some have bought / got vehichles that will travel more than 30 miles now too i prefer to go ta new territorys where accents mingle
It's always been during the Easter holidays so people with children can come without worrying about school on the Monday also for people coming maybe a long distance, and some people are also on holiday from work, Why change that ? Anyone can go where they like and can start another camping thread at anytime they like. I will be camping somewhere with my mates during the Easter School holidays and so will you and others, so like every year it seemed like an idea to try and sort something. There was a discussion a few weeks back on another thread about trying to get some kind of big camps sorted out like we used to have, the consensus was from some popular posters that we should try, I don't know why I bothered but this is one of them tries I'm still going camping in the Easter school holidays
You're never going to get everyone in one place at the same time, all you can do is choose somewhere you like and put it up as Spring camp. As with Dent and Rutland some will come some won't, if you get 10 or more busses it'll be a great weekend again
I suppose you're never going to keep everyone happy logistically and I guess the only way round that is to have regional Spring camps.. I'm guessing @Woodster wouldn't want to be organising any out of his area (Midlands?) so would mean others stepping in . Could even turn into a mini competition - which location has the most attended?? Probably over complicating things - I don't know.. I agree with flakey above on just pick a location and go with it ..wasn't Rutland water a well attended event the other year. Hopefully not talking out of turn being a relative newcomer
Yeah me too, Got a nice little site near Oakham in mind that's set in rolling countryside and next to a pub with great walks
