  8. Ive been online and phoned round the local estate agents
Theres nothing in our price range and houses that are £100 a month over our budget are getting snapped up within days of becoming available

Off to the housing association tommorow

  9. At least we have been told about it this time rather than seeing the house for sale in the local paper

having never rented - and forgive me for making this seem like you're daft but what guarantee do you get when renting? i couldn't stand knowing i could get told to move if i didn't want to, did you agree a term when you took it on? i mean you must have known they could do this anytime?

Normally you agree terms every 6 months or 12 months, though you can make it very difficult for the landlord.

Let's put the brakes on - we only know he is selling. Have you actually been given notice.

It may be sold to an investor who is happy to buy with a sitting tenant.

Note to self.....Never ever rent out a property to Rick. Or, seal up the loft and glue down the floorboards before giving him notice.

  17. your allowed to stay for the term of your contract plus 8 weeks from the end of your contract ,its just happend next door they came home and found a to let board on the house and at the end of the road , so they rang the agent to see if it was a mistake as they knew nothing , the agent told them there was a mistake and he would sort it out , the next night they came home and there was a for sale board up , there in the process of moving out to a house i found for them :hattip:

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

Notice has to be given on the same date your rental/tenancy agreement started.

    Edit

The end of rental/tenancy has to end on same date as started.

  19. Im hoping the housing association comes up trumps as then at least we will be able to stay put for more than a few years
It should work out cheaper aswell

What ever happend to council housing?

  20. The council came up with the bright idea of selling the houses to the tenants if you'd lived in them for longer than 20 years(?) So now they have a shortage of council houses...
